Brandon's story
Hi Sandy. Here is our
personal story. My beautiful son Brandon was injured by a DPT vaccine on July
10, 1992. He was 5 1/2 months old and perfectly healthy. Five hours after the
vaccine Brandon was rushed to the hospital having a grand mal seizure (20-30
minutes long). He was kept overnight for observation. The next day he had
another grand mal seizure (also 20-30 minutes long) so he was kept for a week so
testing could be done. During these seizures, there was no fever. These were
not febrile seizures. I kept saying he had a vaccine today and I was told yeh
the vaccine probably caused a fever which brought on the seizures, no need to
worry even though no fever was recorded. Any way to make a very long story
short, Brandon who is now 10 years old, has suffered thousands of seizures
through the years which we have not been able to completely control. He is
developmentally about 13 months old and he also has autistic behaviors. We did
receive compensation from the compensation fund. That's another long story, but
that money will never put my son's health back to what it was before the
vaccine.
