Some vaccine reactions associated with hepatitis B vaccine given alone or with other vaccines and reported to VAERS  - An ongoing sampling

(Note 1: The cases reported here represent but a small fraction of what has been reported to VAERS.  And VAERS is thought to represent at best 10% of actual adverse vaccine-associated reactions.  Also, please bear in mind that I have concentrated on deaths at this point, so other adverse reactions are even more under-reported here. (Note 2:  When I first compiled this information, date of death information was not always available.  Since then, it has become so, but I haven't had the time to update everything yet. 

(Note 3: The absence of data for some years does not mean that relatively fewer reports were made for those years.  It simply  means I haven't spent as much time compiling the information for those years.)

2000          

Added 9/1/01

VAERS ID 153392    An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV, and IPV vaccines on 6/1/00.  He did not wake up the day after the vaccines were given.  (Nevada)

VAERS ID 155408    An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV, IPV and PNC vaccines on 5/24/00.  That evening she was hospitalized.  The next day, inpatient lab tests were performed and she underwent a "Kasai" procedure.  Then it says:  "Post surgery, she dev" and that's it. It doesn't say when she died.  Pre-existing conditions were biliary atresia and neonatal hepatitis.   (California)

VAERS ID 155423    A infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 6/16/00.  Sometime later, don't know how long, he died of SIDS, according to pathologist.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 155590    An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV, and IPV vaccines on 1/3/00.  43 days later he died of SIDS.  Pre-existing conditions were RSV, IUGR, and neuro-developmental disorder.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 156329    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 5/31/00.  The next day, the mother said he was fine when he was put in bed with her, but when she tried to awaken him he was lying on his stomach with mucus from his mouth and not breathing.  (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 156370    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 7/6/00.  I believe it was the following day (could have been the same day) he died.  This is what it says:  "Patient found asytolic and pulseless in the field (I don't know what in the field means - SM).  Received epinephrine X4 with heart rate obtained. Transferred to ICU, intubated but no respirations, fixed pupils, no corneals.  Initial PH=6.5, patient died about 15 hours after arrival with cardio" and there it ends.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 156861    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 6/6/00.  3 days later, at 6AM,  he was found by his maternal grandmother in his crib not breathing.  She stated he was fine after receiving the vaccination but was fussy, but no fever.  It then says "She" and that's it.  (Alabama)

Added 8/31/01

VAERS ID 157956    An infant received the HBHepB vaccine on 7/12/00.  2 days later he was found by his mother in the morning not breathing and without a heart rate.  Pre-existing conditions were 27 week gestation and cerebral palsy.  (California)

VAERS ID 158477    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, and IPV vaccines on 7/31/00.  The next day she died of SIDS.  (New Mexico)

VAERS ID 159003    An infant received the DTaP, IPV, PNC and HBHepB vaccines on 8/4/00.  The next day he was found blue and unresponsive.  Efforts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.  Said mother had a history of smoking during pregnancy.  (State unknown)

VAERS ID 159083    A one- year-old received the HepB and VARCEL vaccines on 8/15/00.  She developed a fever and vomiting with cyanosis on the evening of vaccination.  In the ER her pulse "ox" was 50% (normal for her was 78).   She developed bradycardia and respiratory arrest.  Then it says:  "Full CPR was performed for 70-80 minutes before pronunce" and that's it, presumable dead the same day.  Pre-existing conditions listed were tricuspid atresia, pulmonary atresia, and unrestricted ASD.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 159131    An infant received the HepB and PNC vaccines on 8/8/00.  Starting about 48 hours post vaccination she developed status epilepticus-simple partial (motor).  It says "Left body started about 48 hours immunization".  It doesn't say when she died.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 159916    An infant received the DTaP, IPV, PNC and HBHepB vaccines on 9/11/00.  3 days later she was found blue and not breathing (at 12:30PM).  She had been put down for a nap at 10:30AM.  Paramedics were unable to intubate due to rigor mortis.  She was taken to the ER where she was pronounced dead on arrival in asystole.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 159963    An infant received the HepB and PNC vaccines on 9/13/00.  7 days later she was found pulseless and apneic in her crib at 8:00 (no AM or PM).  It says she had a pre-existing condition of "initial low blood sugar".  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID  160417    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 9/22/00.  This is the confusing and incomplete reported text:  "The reported states, 'Don't know", understands the infant was DOA at the hospital but was not verified."  The adverse onset date was 9/24/00, so she probably died 2 days post vaccination.  (Kentucky)    

VAERS ID 160423    A 15 year-old received the HepB and HepA vaccines on 2/17/00.  Sometime post vaccination, he was playing badminton in high school PE class when he collapsed.  CPR was started by his PE teacher and the high school nurse until parmedics arrived.  He expired at the hospital (presumably the same day).  An autopsy was performed.  Then it says "Pathology tissues of heart sent fo" and that's it.  If he died the same day, since it says the onset day was 3/8/00, 20 days later, it would seem he died 20 days post vaccination.  (Alaska)

Added 8/30/01

VAERS ID 160877    An infant received the DTaP, PNC and HepB vaccines on 10/5/00.  20 hours post vaccination, he had a fever of 100.  72 hours post vax he arrived unresponsive to the ER and died during resuscitation efforts.  A blood culture drew pneumococcus.  The infant was "status post stage 1 for surgery for hypoplastic left heart syn" and there it ends.  (Virginia)

VAERS ID 161098    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 10/25/00.  The next day he was sleeping with his 16 year-old sibling and mom found him not breathing with his siblings arm across his face.  CPR and intubation were both unsuccessful.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 161164    An infant received the DTaP, IPV, PNC and HBHepB vaccines on 9/22/00.  He slept more than usual for the first 2 days post vaccination and then died of SIDS on the fourth day post vax.  (Minnesota)

VAERS ID 161439    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV, and HepB vaccines on 7/26/00.  Probable SIDS 3 days later (autopsy being done, further studies pending).  (Oregon)

Added 7/19/01    

VAERS ID 163938    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 8/15/00.  35 days later she died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 163937    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 6/28/00.  14 days later he died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 163936    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, IPV and PNC vaccines on 9/7/00.  The next morning (10AM) she was found face down in the corner of a "love seat" where she was sleeping.  She had fed at 6AM without complication.  (Missouri)

VAERS ID 163778    A one year-old received the DTaP, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 12/5/00.  (She was given an examination and deemed to be "normal", so given the vaccinations.)  That evening she still seemed fine and most of the next day.  This is what the text then says "She awakened at 11 PM on 12/6/ crying and was given a dose of Motrin f" and that's it.  So I don't know what happened.  She died but there is obviously no indication of when that might have been.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 163135    An one-year old received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV, HepB and MMR vaccines on 9/5/00.  It says the adverse event occurred the next day, but it may mean she died that night/early morning because it says "infant was put to bed for the evening and expired."  It also says the infant was behind on immunizations and that the mother had given a negative history for previous adverse reactions.  Cause of death is undetermined.  (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 162990    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 9/29/00.  There is no more information, other than that she died and the adverse event (either the first symptoms, or the death, if it was sudden) occurred 2 days later.  (North Carolina)

 VAERS ID 162748    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 9/18/00.  She died approximately 36 hours later, cause of death unknown.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 162552    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, IPV and PNC vaccines on 10/25/00.  The next day he died of SIDS.  (Nebraska)

VAERS ID 162102    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 11/07/00.  This is what the text says:  “Pt was seen 11/07 for 2 month physical evaluation and received Hepatitis B vax.  No problems occurred while in the office.  He apparently developed respiratory problems on the car ride home and was transferred to the hospital ER and then to an” and that’s it.  It said he had a pre-existing condition of Trisomy 21, and possibly a history of holes in his heart.  He died, I don’t know when.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 161853    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 10/3/00.  He was presented to the ER 6 days later in cardiopulmonary arrest.  A full autopsy was performed and cause of death was SIDS.  He had had a premature birth and was a twin.  (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 161811    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and PNC vaccines on 9/8/00.  Post vaccination (it doesn’t say when) she developed URI symptoms.  She was seen in the office on 9/14/00, six days after the vaccination.  She had a cardiac even on 9/16 and died.  Autopsy “revealed” SIDS.  (Louisiana)

Added 6/19/01

VAERS ID 134249    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines  on 2/8/00.  Foster mom found her dead 5 days later.  Autopsy performed, preliminary conclusion SIDS.  (California)

VAERS ID 134118    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 1/24/00.  7 days later she died of apparent SIDS.  (Hawaii)

VAERS ID 134072    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 1/25/00.  6 days later she was found not breathing at the babysitter's.  Resuscitation was to no avail.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 133896    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 1/13/00.  2 1/2 days after the vaccine she died a sudden death - probably SIDS, coroners report pending.  She was fine between the vaccination and her unexpected death.  The reported writes "I doubt this is related to the vaccines, but wanting to be thorough".  (Colorado)

Added 6/18/01

VAERS ID 150243    A one year-old received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV, HepB and MMR vaccines on 3/7/00.  No reaction or illness was noted after the vaccine until the morning of 3/11/00 (4 days later) when he was playing and then laid down on the couch and started shaking and stopped breathing.  (American Samoa?).  

VAERS ID 134672    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 1/12/00.  There were not signs, no symptoms, found dead 5 days later.  Autopsy findings (per grandmother) stated that he died of SIDS.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 134583    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 2/29/00.  That night mom put her on two soft pillows on the floor to sleep (around 11:15PM).  Did not check on her until around 9AM the next morning.  Found her dead.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 134577    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 3/2/00.  The next day he was found dead in his sleep.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 134249   An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 2/8/00.  5 days later she was found dead.  Preliminary autopsy - SIDS.  (California)

Added 6/17/01

VAERS ID 151749    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 4/4/00.  9 or 10 days post vax she died of SIDS.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 151748    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 3/22/00.  26 days later he died of SIDS. Autopsy being performed.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 151620    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, and IPV vaccines on 4/17/00.  That same day he died of SIDS.  (Mom brought him to the hospital because he had stopped breathing.)  (Louisiana)

VAERS ID 151619    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, and IPV vaccines on 4/10/00.  Do not know when this happened, but he experienced vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration.  Was hospitalized for 20 hours because of the dehydration.  He went into cardiac arrest and was transferred to ICU where he continued to arrest and sustained organ failure.  (California)

VAERS ID 151618    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB, and IPV vaccines on 5/2/00.  2 days later mom found him dead in his crib.  He had been fed formula at 3AM and was returned to his crib.  He seemed to be sleeping later than usual, and when the mom checked on him at approximately 8AM, he was on his back and unresponsive.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 151190    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 4/6/00.  3 days later, after going to bed at 3AM with mother, he died of SIDS.  (Oregon)

VAERS ID 150249    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 2/28/00.  4 days later she died.  Then it says, "The cause of de".  (New Jersey)

Added 6/16/01

VAERS ID 152301    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 4/17/00.  Less than 24 hours later he had died of SIDS (official coroner's report confirms).  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 152213      An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 3/30/00.  The next day he died.   Mother reports infant fussy night of 03/30/00. Laid infant on stomach and his back was patted.  Infant and mother fell asleep. Mother woke up and infant not breathing. Mother called 911.   (Arizona)  

VAERS ID 152041    An 45 year-old woman received the HepB vaccine on 4/25/00. 8 days later she was found dead at home. She was taking Dilantin on a regular basis. Her mother died of an aneurysm at age 40. She was otherwise healthy. (Oregon)

VAERS ID 152001    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 4/13/00.  Five days later she died of SIDS.  (Maine)

VAERS ID 151867    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 5/10/00.  The next day he was found lifeless, unresponsive and transported to the hospital.  CPR was unsuccessful.  Diagnosed SIDS.  (Georgia)

1999 

Added 7/13/01

VAERS ID 119003    An infant received the HepB and HIBV vaccines on 1/6/99.  There is no text concerning the death, but it says the adverse event onset date was 9 days after the vaccinations on 1/15/99.  It also says he had pneumonia at birth (he was born in  July of 1998 and was hospitalized (1 time?), and was a twin.  (Maryland)

VAERS ID 118536    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 1/20/99.  2 days later he died of SIDS.  He had received his first dose on 12/18/98.  (Pennsylvania)

Added 7/10/01

VAERS ID 121278/121082/121007    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 3/30/99.  2 days later he was dead of SIDS.  (He was given his last feeding at 4AM.  He was smiling and doing well.  Found in his crib at 7AM, unresponsive.  CPR was started and he was taken to the hospital.  They were unsuccessful in resuscitating him.  Mom said he was cranky the day after the vaccine when someone touched where the vaccine was given.)  (Michigan)  

VAERS ID 120891    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 3/17/99.  There is no more information, other than that he visited the ER and that there is a family history for SIDS and possible sickle cell anemia.  (Texas)

Added 7/1/01

VAERS ID 125185/123703    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/28/99. It says in the first reported text that he received the vaccine and arrived at the hospital dead on arrival.  And that a medical exam report was pending.  However, the adverse onset date was said to be 6/7/99.  The report was later amended to say that an autopsy was performed and that results are pending.  Cause of death was not specified.  It says the MD did not feel the vaccine was related to the death. He died 10 days post vaccine or immediately post vaccine, don't know which.   (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 124943    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 6/1/99.  He died the next day at home - autopsy said SIDS.  (Arizona)

VAERS ID 123703    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/28/99.  The text says he received the vaccine and arrived at the hospital dead on arrival.  A medical exam report is pending.  However, the adverse event onset date was said to occur on 6/7/99, 10 days post vaccination.  So I'm not sure when it occurred.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 123168    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 3/24/99.  31 days later he died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 122713    An infant received the HepB vaccine 3/3/99.  18 days later he died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 121783/118536    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 1/20/99.  He had experience body tremors since his first vaccination at approximately 1-2 weeks of age on 12/18/98..  They seemed to happen frequently.  He had diarrhea on the 18th of January and then received his second vaccination on the 20th.  On the 24th the diarrhea was worse but he was still nursing and urinating.  He died on the 25th of SIDS.  (In the first version it said he either had a second vaccine on the 22nd of January or died on the 22nd - confusing.)  (Pennsylvania)

Added 6/30/01

VAERS ID 128283    A 10 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 8/24/99.  13 days later he was found in bed unresponsive by mom.  Paramedics performed unsuccessful resuscitation, taken to ER, pronounced dead.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 128065    A 15 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 6/10/99.  On 7/22/99 she was seen by “FMD” (?), complaining of left ear pain.  Diagnosed with otitis externa.  On 7/26/99 complained of left ear pain, headache, feeling off balance.  Diagnosis was otitis media.  Given Bactrim DS.  On the 28^th she had severe headache and neck pain, difficulty walking and a change in mental status, plus had “Kernig’s sign”.  She was hospitalized, given Claforan IV, Vanco, Acyclovir.  Says she “expired 8/”, so I don’t know when in August she died.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 127780     A 9 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 7/19/99.  Four days later he experience a high fever, vomiting and swollen glands.  Was hospitalized.  These events were considered life-threatening.  22 days post vaccination he died.  An autopsy was performed, but was inconclusive.  Cause of death unknown.  (Maryland)

VAERS ID 127519/127161    An infant received the HepB, IPV and RV vaccines on 7/12/99.  2 days post vaccination, at 5:30 PM he developed an unusual cry and pallor, and was taken to the ER.  Mom suspected bowel  obstruction.  X-Ray showed “ileus”.  At 7:30 PM he had cardiac arrest.  Resuscitated, remained unconscious.  Sent to UCSF where he remained unstable.  There was no possibility of surgery so he died on the 15^th, 3 days post vaccination.    The record was later amended to say that on the 14^th, 2 days post vaccination, his x-ray showed distention of the stomach, large and small bowels, with possible bowel obstruction.  Also that after being resuscitated he had another cardiac arrest the next day, when he died.  The autopsy report said it was cecal perforation.  (California)

VAERS ID 127170    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/27/99.  He died 30 days later at one month old.  (Kentucky)

VAERS ID 127167   An infant received the HepB vaccine on 3/17/99.  Says the adverse event onset date was 4/9/99, 23 days later but says nothing about how or when she died.  (Kentucky)

Added 6/23/01

VAERS ID 129671    A 15 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 7/10/99.  I believe it was on 7/22/99 that she developed a headache, stiff neck and change in mental status.  She was also unable to walk.  She was then hospitalized and developed seizures.  She died on 8/1/99 (22 days post vaccination).  The initial evaluation and cause of death is aseptic meningitis.  There were three other cases of viral meningitis in the community during the same time frame.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 128372/127161    An infant received the HepB and RV vaccines on 7/12/99.  Two days later at 5:30PM he had an unusual cry;  had pallor and taken to the ER.  Mom suspected bowel obstruction - x-ray showed "ileus" (ileitis?).  At 7:30 PM he had cardiac arrest.  Apparently resuscitated remained unconscious.  Sent to UCSF where he remained unstable.  There was not possibility of surgery - as a result he died on the 15th (3 days post vaccination).  The report was later amended to say he had a possible obstruction; x-ray showed a gaseous distention of the stomach, and small and large bowels.  Says transferred after resuscitation to "KUB", and again said "ileus"  (isn't that a part of the intestine and not a diagnosis?).  He had a second cardiac arrest and this time expired.  His autopsy showed dehiscence of cecum, cecal necrosis (comma?) mesenteric thrombosis, intra-abdominal flu (fluids?).  (California)

VAERS ID 132241    An infant received the DTP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 11/2/99.  Eighteen days later he died of SIDS. (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 132111    An infant received the DTP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 11/26/99.  Don't know when he died by he developed a fever, initially low grade ( think by the following day), then 104 by the morning of the 3rd day.  He was given acetaminophen every four hours, beginning at the time of vaccination.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 132108    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 10/19/99.  5 days later she died of apparent SIDS.  Parents stated she had no reaction from the vaccination.  (Pennsylvania)

Added 6/20/01

VAERS ID 133751   An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/27/99.  16 days later he died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)  

VAERS ID 133249    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 11/19/99.  < 24 hours later  he died.  (He had had a cold but the shots were administered anyway.)  His tongue was swollen.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 133221    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/7/99.  16 days post vax she was found unresponsive - dead.  (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 132820    An infant received the DTaP and HBHepB vaccines on 11/30/99.  The next day he was being watched by his grandmother who reported that the child was shaking earlier in the evening.  He was put in his crib on his back and later found on his stomach, blue around the mouth but still warm.  SIDS suspected. (Illinois)

VAERS ID 132541    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 11/19/99.  I think he died the next day, but here is what it says "Medical examiner verbally stated that child died from SIDS.  Mother is blaming on immunizations that child received.  Mother states child was very tired and slept until next am, at time of death child's rectal temp was 106."  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 132499    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 11/11/99.  On the day of his vaccination he was noted to have an upper respiratory infection.  He remained playful and well-hydrated (I assume post vax).  The next day he was fussy in the morning, given a bottle and put on the couch to nap.  45 minutes later he was not breathing.  Taken to the ER where resuscitation was not successful.  Diagnosis - full arrest.  Suspect SIDS. (New York)

VAERS ID 134071    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 12/7/99.  21 days later he was found by mother with no pulse and not breathing.  (Ohio)

Added 6/18/01

VAERS ID 134250    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/16/99.  4 days later she was found dead by her parent.  (California)

Added 6/16/01

VAERS ID 119005    An infant received the DTPH, IPV and HepB vaccines on 2/4/99.  2 days later he was brought to the ER with apparent SIDS; found in crib by caregiver.  (Iowa)

VAERS ID 128300    An infant received the DTPH, HepB, OPV and RV vaccines on 7/8/99. 54 days later he or she developed congestion and a runny nose; was seen by an MD (that same day?) who observed him or her to be mottled; pale and cyanotic; taken to ER and intubated; unsuccessful resuscitation.  Don't know when died.  (New York)

VAERS ID 130608    A one year-old received the HBHepB and OPV vaccines on 10/1/99.  12 days later she was admitted to the hospital w/fever, leg pain, abdominal distention, and her leg purple.  Diagnosed as Betahem, streptococci group A invasion.  She was transported to the hospital (I thought she was already at the hospital - if not, where was the diagnosis made?)  There were complications, cardiopulmonary arrest.  Does not say when she died.  (Kentucky)

Added 6/15/01    

VAERS ID 121993    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and OPV vaccines on 4/19/99.  The next day she died of SIDS or pneumonia.  (California)

VAERS ID 122254    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 4/20/99.  The next morning (8AM)  she was found in her crib dead.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 127855  An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 7/6/99.  On the second day post vaccination, she broke out with welts on her face only; felt warm. On the third day, the welts were on her face.  No meds were given, felt warm the 3rd night.  Still had welts. She had a bottle at 3:10AM, no fever noted.  Was found dead at 4:45 AM.  (Kentucky)

Fluids were pushed, still projectile vomiting, fussiness, listless, not eating or sleeping.  Given Levsin - no bowel movement, diarrhea (not sure how these can go together); hospitalized (for 3 days), given IV.  Needed CPR (cardiac arrest).  The differential diagnosis was aspiration, sepsis, SIDS, shaken baby syndrome.  Don't know what day she died.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 129511  A one year old received the DTaP, HBHepB, IPV and I believe the Meningitis Vaccines on 7/8/99.  Says post vaccine he developed a fever of 103.3, was irritable and cranky, fever (repeated), not eating; cough, tired, lethargic, not self, not playful, fussy, no sleep, rapid heart bets, left side of chest larger, nose flaring, trouble breathing.  Went to the ER and found to have heart disease.  It says the onset of symptoms was 9/14/99, but it sounds as if they started right away, so maybe that is the date of death.  (California)

VAERS ID 127076  An infant received the DTaP, HepB and HIBV vaccines on 6/15/99.  On 7/8/99 he began vomiting and had a shrill cry;  phoned MD and child taken to the ER; went into shock, transferred to pediatric ICU; coded 15 minutes later.  Taken to surgery - all intestines were black; had malrotation (intussusception);  the next day had a seizure.  Doesn't say when the infant died.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 128797  A 37 year-old received the HepB and TD vaccines on 4/21/99.  That same day she experienced hives, was itchy all over, then shortness of breath, difficulty breathing.  Went to the ER, her blood pressure was very low, pulse undetectable.  Says pre-existing conditions "ampicillin, codeine, erythromycin, penicillin".  Don't know if that means was known to be allergic to those things, or was taking them.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says she has recovered.  (Wisconsin)

VAERS ID 127452  An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 5/10/99.  On the same day, she became apneic, was taken to the ER.  Mom state she stopped breathing for between 10-20 seconds;  she was monitored; no apnea noted in the hospital.  Given elimite cream 5%; selsun blue shampoo b/w (?).  This illness was considered life-threatening and the infant was hospitalized for 2 days.  It says she has recovered.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 126245  A 27 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 7/16/99.  Within 2 minutes the patient went into respiratory failure (anaphylactic shock); epinephrine was given, Solumedrol.  Previously known to be highly allergic to eggs and peanuts.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she was hospitalized for an unknown number of days.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not she has recovered.  (Washington)

VAERS ID 123704  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/12/99.  4 days later he refused to take a bottle, ended up in ICU, diagnosis unknown.  This illness was considered life-threatening and this infant was hospitalized for 10 days.  This infant HAS NOT recovered.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 121233  A 16 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 1/21/99.  2 months post vaccine, the patient developed ideopathic thrombocytopenia..  Her first diagnosis was 3/22/99 day for bruising, decreased platelets.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she was hospitalized for 2 days.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID 119197  A sixteen year-old had the MMR and HepB vaccines on 1/21/99.  His father reports that within 5 minutes his son complained of swelling eyes, and that his chest felt tight.  Within about 1 and 1/4 hours, his eyes were completely swollen, joints hurt, he had shortness of breath, a tight chest.  Went to the ER, treated with IV and 6 shots (of what, I don't know);  swelling was reduce in 2 1/2 hours;  was discharged with joint aches lasting 1/12 days.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says he recovered.  (Louisiana)

VAERS ID 122139  An infant received DTaP, HepB, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 4/26/99.  2 days later he had cyanotic episodes - hypotonia, eye deviation.  I believe it says he went to the hospital to the pediatric ICU;  a full work up was done.  This illness was considered life-threatening and this infant was hospitalized for 5 days.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not he recovered.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 119336  A 33 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 1/19/99.  She had an allergic reaction within 5 minutes of receiving the vaccine;  911 called.  She was immediately given epinephrine and 02 mask;  experienced shaking all over, difficulty breathing, cyanosis, jerking movements of extremities; given benadryl in ambulance by EMT, IV's, steroids, then released from ER.  She had a history of allergic reactions to bee stings, white rice.  Had had the 1st Hep B vaccine in 1992 without reaction;  none given again until this one.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says she has recovered.  (Maryland)

VAERS ID 118402  An infant received the HepB Vaccine on 1/21/99.  Immediately post vax she went into respiratory arrest followed by cardiac arrest.  CPR was started immediately by a nurse.  The ambulance was called.  The patient was intubated and transferred to a local ER, then admitted for 2 days.  This infant already had a dextroposed heart and micropthalmia.  This infant had received the first Hep B shot on 12/22/98, SKB lot# 2626a2.  This illness was considered life threatening .  It says she recovered.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 118334  An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV, IPV and some vaccine starting with "R" on 1/14/99.  On the 17th, 3 days later, late onset group B stretp sepsis and meningitis were diagnosed.  He had an elevated temperature two days following the vaccines, which was treated with acetaminophen.  On the 17th he was back to normal, but in the afternoon woke up ashen, with fever up;  take to ER - meningitis.  Prior condition - prematurity (25 weeks)/retinopathy of prematurity. Other meds:  syarages by med-immune lot# 810834 given 1/14/99.   This illness was considered life-threatening, the child was hospitalized for 14 days and HAS NOT recovered.  (Missouri)

VAERS ID 118117  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/29/98.  The next day he was sweating, irritable, crying, had a swollen injection site, and was hard to console.  Was put to bed at 2AM and was found dead at 4AM.  Paramedics tried to revive; he was taken to the hospital but all attempts to revive the patient were fruitless approximately 16 hours post vaccination.  (West Virginia)

VAERS ID 120411    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 10/8/98.  Apparently this was his second vaccine and he slept more than usual.  Then 3 days prior to his death he slept almost continuously.  On the day he died he only took 1 bottle all day.  At 8:30PM he woke up from sleep screaming, had a seizure, turned blue and then died in the ambulance approximately 15 minutes later.  He died 11 days post vaccination.  (Connecticut)

VAERS ID 120390/114427    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 9/15/98.  He or she died either 5 hours later or the next day.  Apparently, the information about the death was from an internet article which said the patient received the vaccine and then died.  The article indicates that an autopsy was performed and that the patient was found to have a swollen brain;  however, this finding was apparently absent from the autopsy report, as was information re: there having been a vaccination.  Said to have died of SIDS.  (New York)

VAERS ID 120393/119054    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 8/25/98.  It says the adverse event onset date was the same day.  As well as the following:  He seemed not very content, spitting up, acting like he had a headache.  Sometime after the vaccine he died in his mom's arms.  It says the date, time and causes of death were not specified.  "The article" did not indicate whether an autopsy was performed.  Also said the mother was threatened with murder charges by the sheriff.  (California)

VAERS ID 117373    An eight year-old received the HepB vaccine on 10/28/98.  Two days later she died of septic shock.  (Says:  "This report being filed as a precaution; vaccine not believed to result in septic shock.")  She had fever, rigors.  Vomiting, diarrhea once, respiratory distress (saturations, shock, lethargy, apneic, cyanotic with poor effusion.  Chest compression after intubation.  Hypothermic, severe vomiting, poor perfusion of the limbs, head.  Autopsy - cause of death Waterhouse Syndrome.  (New York)

VAERS ID 133222    An infant received the DTPH, OPV and HepB vaccines on 5/22/98.  One hour after receiving the vaccines, she had a fever.  24 hours after the vaccines, she experienced shock; seemed very distant - all attentiveness disappeared.  29 hours after vaccination, she was excessively sleepy.  31 hours post vax she died.

VAERS ID 116533    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 10/21/98.  He had no known health problems.  At his two month vaccine, the only reaction was local redness, swelling of left thigh which subsided.  Only a slight fever post injection which was relieved, according to mom, with acetaminophen.  2 weeks later he was found dead at a local daycare.   CPR was performed;  autopsy revealed died of SIDS. He died 15 days post vaccination. VAERS ID 107712  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, OPV and HebB vaccines on 2/6/98.  She was fussy during the night, up several times on and off.  At the last check (3:30AM) - what?  Went in at 5:30 or 6:00AM and found at foot of bed, cool and mottled.  EMT tried to resuscitate with no results and again in ER.  Died, I believe, the day following the vaccination.  (Says onset adverse event the next day, so that either means she died the day following the vaccine, or two days following.) VAERS ID 109861  An infant received the DTaP, OPV, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 4/14/98.  Mom states no unusual symptoms after the shot; no fever, not fussy.  She was put to bed at 7:54 PM that evening; father found her not breathing at 8:40 PM with blood in nares.  Transported by EMS, CPR done, patient dead on arrival at hospital (same days as shots).  (Texas)

VAERS ID 109867/110240/110848  An infant received DTaP, IPV, HIBV, and HepB vaccines on 4/14/98 at approximately 11:30AM.  She was found dead less than 24 hours later at approximately 8:30AM the next day.  Text also says "SIDS-? reaction to immunization;". (Iowa)

VAERS ID 110237  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, HepB and IPV vaccines on 4/17/98.  She expired at 10PM (cause) pending autopsy report.  She died that same day.  (Nevada)

VAERS ID 111504  An infant received DTaP, IPV, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 5/18/98.  She presented to the ER in full arrest after a nap the next day.  I assume she died that day, although it doesn't say.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 111280  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 3/24/98.  8 days later, on the first of April, mom reported finding her son unresponsive at 10AM. 911 was dispatched; he was pronounced SIDS by a medical examiner at home.  (Oregon)

VAERS ID 107087  An infant received DTaP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 1/22/98.  She was found unresponsive less than 24 hours post vaccination; autopsy pending.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 112467  An infant received DTP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 4/22/98.  Within 7 hours the injection site was swollen and reddish.  For the next 12 hours she screamed inconsolably and alternatively fell fell into a deep sleep.  The next day she had diarrhea and took longer to finish her bottles, as the day went by her skin felt cold to the touch.  She later died.  Also had constipation.  She died 4 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS ID 112402  An infant received DTP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 3/19/98.  The description makes no sense because it says the onset of symptoms was six days post vax but that the child died one day post vax.  At any rate, the child died of SIDS.  It looks like the child died 6 days post vaccination. VAERS ID 108668  An infant received DTP, HIBV, OPV, HepB vaccines on 2/9/98.  It says symptoms started the next day, and he died of SIDS 38 hours post vaccination.  It says he cried for a short time, was given acetominophen and went to sleep - then became opistohonic with respiratory distress.  (California)

VAERS ID 118636  An infant received DTP, OPV and HepB vaccines on 10/26/98.  He started getting a fever that same day; had swelling at the site of the DTP as well as soreness; was very cranky and was sore for three days following the vaccinations.  On the 3rd day post vaccination he died.  (U.S. Military Base)

VAERS ID 126765  A 10 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 12/9/98.  In April of 1999 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she was hospitalized for 1 day.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (New Mexico)

VAERS ID 119901  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 4/27/98.  Within 10 minutes he developed possible anaphylaxis with apnea and arm rigidity;  he was transferred from the nursery to a neonatal unit or (?) administered oxygen.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  He was hospitalized an unknown number of days.  It says he has recovered.  (Indiana)

 VAERS ID 119749  A 39 year-old received the HepB vaccine on 3/23/98.  Onset of symptoms began the same day - don't' know exactly when, but developed sores in both legs which made her bedridden, now disabled.  Diagnosed with lupus in April of 1998.  She was perfectly fine until she got the vaccine.  Previously had been a health care worker and was splashed in eyes with sputum from Hep B carrier.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and she is not disabled (?).  It says she has recovered, but it doesn't seem that disability and lupus is recovery.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 117529  A 43 year old received the HepB vaccine on 11/9/98.  Her symptoms started 3 days later.  She saw a doctor on the 17th for hepatitis; further testing, including liver biopsy, suggested autoimmune hepatitis; prednisone started on the 27th with marked improvement.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she HAS NOT recovered.  (Minnesota)

VAERS ID 116882  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 11/19/98.  The next day he developed a fever.  The next day he went to the ER.  He was treated with medicine (not named) and transferred to another hospital.  It says other meds are "Mylicon" - I assume this was prior to this event?  Another Hep B vaccine had been given 10/9/98.  This illness was considered life-threatening, the child was hospitalized, is considered disabled, and HAS NOT recovered.  (Alabama)

VAERS ID 116461  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 10/21/98.  Two days later, she had sudden onset of hemoptysis and hematuria.  She was taken to the hospital where she required a ventilator.  All testing was negative.  Many saw the patient and none could explain it.  Patient had a prolonged (13 day) stay at the hospital and recovered without any apparent permanent injury.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 116746  An 18 year old received the HepB vaccine on 9/11/98.  16 days later she experience thirst and polyuria;  was diagnosed with Type I diabetes.  She was hospitalized for 4 days.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she HAS NOT recovered.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 118644  A nineteen year old received the HepB vaccine on 9/17/98.  3 days later she had widespread pain on the right side of her body, a sinus infection.  A theumatologist (rheumatologist?), orthopedist (two different people?) diagnosed fibromyalgia;  says "symptoms worsen - physical therapy" - I don't know if that means they worse with physical therapy, or that because they worsened, she is getting physical therapy.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she is now considered disabled.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 115171  A twelve year old received MMR, TD and HepB vaccines on 6/9/98.  18 days post vaccination he had at temperature of 102-104;  for 4 months he had  a temperature, rash stiff neck, joint swelling and ongoing pain;  he was hospitalized with pericarditis in August w/abnormal ECHO (echocardiogram?) regarding two valves;  diagnosed systemic juvenile enteritis.  Had prior allergy to red dye and bees.  Was taking DDAVP (?).   This illness was considered life-threatening, he was hospitalized for 2 days, now is considered disabled.  He HAS NOT recovered.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 115019  A two year old received the HepB vaccine on 9/14/98.  Right after being vaccinated, at home,  he became cranky with temperature.  He was given meds and the fever resolved.  Then he awoke at 10 PM with fever, stood up, fell and hit his head on the TV;  started a seizure; taken to the ER and intubated.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the child was hospitalized for 3 days.  It says he has since recovered.  (California)

VAERS ID 118449  A sixteen year old received the HepB vaccine on 10/29/98.  That same day she experienced nausea, cramping, vomiting, hot flashes, headache, shooting pains/spasms in hands, eye pain; patient seen by specialists.  A UGI scope was done a inflammation of the duodenum was noted; bloodwork showed liver damage, a reduction of RBC.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she was hospitalized for 2 days.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 118280  A twelve year old received the HepB vaccine on 9/30/98.  5 minutes post vax she experience headache, shortness of breath, tight throat and chest.  She was hospitalized for anaphylaxis (one day).  This illness was considered life-threatening.   It says she has since recovered.  (North Dakota)

VAERS ID 115144  An infant received DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 6/26/98.  8 days post vaccination, he had a prolonged apneic episode requiring resuscitation with subsequent seizure and neurological damage.  Previously had perinatal asphyxia.  This illness was considered life threatening, and he was hospitalized for 12 days.  He is considered disabled, and HAS NOT recovered.  (Wisconsin)

VAERS ID 122670  An infant received the HepB vaccine and 16 hours post vaccination died.  She seemed fine immediately post vax, but a few hours later developed sudden difficulty in breathing which resembled convulsions; she didn't breath properly and appeared to be convulsing, and would not burp.  Then went to sleep fast.  Obviously this was a life-threatening condition and the infant did not recover.  (New York)

VAERS ID 114327 A one year old  received the HepB, Hib and DTaP vaccines on 4/15/98.  At 4 PM of that same day he was screaming, hyperventilating, shaking, seizing with his left side twitching.  He was taken to the ER.  Since this was reported in September I believe the following:  "hyperactive, has a temper w/high pitched screaming fits & lately has been banging head against wall; intubated; rt side weak" to mean this all happened since the vaccine.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says he was hospitalized for 5 days and HAS NOT recovered.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 112414 A 21 year old received the HepB Vaccine on 6/27/98.  15 minutes post vax he collapsed and then came to.  Was given oxygen and was noted to be in atrial fibrillation;  the patient was transferred to the hospital, then converted to sinus rhythm; his pulse rate remained above 120-130.  The next day the patient collapsed again;  this time his heart rate was below 40;  resuscitation was initiated.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the patient was hospitalized (for I don't know how long).  It says the patient recovered.  The patient had a pre-existing Penicillin allergy.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 110241  An eleven year old received the HepB vaccine on 4/15/98.  She became ill that evening with a high fever, continuing with lethargy into the next day.  Symptoms include stomach cramps, fever, diarrhea, light sensitivity, hearing sensitivity, sore throat.  Lost 7 pounds.  Diagnosed on 5/14/98 with acute Epstein-Barr Virus with a white blood count of 10.4.  This illness was considered life threatening, resulting in disability.  She has HAS NOT recovered.  Apparently had a previous allergy to pertussis (I assume the vaccine).   (Florida)

VAERS ID 112637  A twenty-seven year old was vaccinated with her first dose of HepB vaccine, and two days later on 3/27/98  had nocturnal sweats, 5 days of fever, continuous tingling in arm; still has problem with arm; gets tired quickly.  This illness was considered life threatening, and she HAS NOT recovered.  (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 111669  A thirteen year old received TD, IPV and HepB vaccines.  About 4 minutes post vax, almost fainted, BP down to 90/60 from 120/75.  Received adrenalin and recovered.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says the patient recovered.  (California)

VAERS ID 109764  An infant received HIBV, DPT, IPV and HepB vaccines on 4/7/98.  2 days later she was vomitting, had diarrhea, fussiness and was diagnosed with pneumonia;  she lost weight, was irritable, would not eat.  This illness was considered life threatening.  It says she was hospitalized for 6 days and has recovered.  (Missouri)

VAERS ID 114285  An infant received DTaP, HepB, HIBV and OPV vaccines at 9 AM on 9/3/98.  Found child limp and blue and took to ER around 12PM.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the infant was hospitalized for an unknown number of days.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not the child ever recovered.  (Georgia)

VAERS ID 113918  An infant received DTaP, IPV and HepB vaccines on 8/14/98.  Two days later he had bradycardia during feeding, progressing to cardiorespiratory arrest;  he was resuscitated and put on a ventilator.  He had pre-existing conditions, including prematurity, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, hypothyroidism.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the infant was hospitalized for an unknown number of days.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not the child ever recovered.  (New York)

VAERS ID 114425  A 15 year old received the HepB vaccine on 3/17/98. 12 days later he developed a deep vein thrombosis and was hospitalized for between 8 and 11 days.  He is being treated with coumadin.  This illness was considered life threatening.  It says this child recovered.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 110787  An infant received DTaP, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 4/2/98.  Two days later he developed fever, vomiting, cough, increasing irritability.  Two days after than he was given a spinal tap, admitted to the hospital; the diagnosis was penumococcal meningitis with evidence of increased intracranial pressure.  The next day he was transferred to another hospital where he was intubated.  Says "LGA" newborn and had mild eczema; also that he had been exposed to a cousin with pneumonia 1 week ago.  For some reason was taking motrin;  also amoxicillin 2 weeks ago for sinusitis.  This illness was considered life threatening, and the child is considered disabled.  It says it is UNKNOWN whether or not the child ever recovered. VAERS ID 112223  An infant received DTaP, OPV, HIBV and the HepB vaccines on 3/18/98.   The next day he or she developed focal hemorrhages in subdural area;  the pediatric neurologist reporting this evaluated the patient and stated it looked like child abuse and diagnosed shaken baby syndrome.  A defense attorney alleges vaccine damage.  This illness was considered life threatening.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not this child ever recovered.  (Don't know what state lived in.)

VAERS ID 114790  A one year old received DTaP, OPV, MMR and the Hep B vaccines on 7/16/98.  One hour later he experienced respiratory difficulty and received CPR.  Went to the ER and was released.  Later in the day he experienced difficulty and diminished consciousness;  went to hospital for 6 days;  had high fever (105), full body rash and edema of genitals.  Received antibiotics.  This illness was considered life threatening.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not he ever recovered.  (Oregon)

VAERS ID 158090    An infant received the DTaP, HepB, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 9/15/97.  25 days later he was found in his crib at daycare.  Autopsy confirmed SIDS.  (Connecticut)

VAERS ID 160612    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 11/11/97.  Within 24 to 48 hours, perhaps less, he experienced fever, apnea, vomiting, diarhhea, feeding problems, grunting, high pitched crying, possible seizures, lethargy.  It says 10 days later, symptoms "worsening gradually".  (Not sure what that means in the context of what happened next..)  Then it goes on to say:  "At 10:00 (no AM or PM) on 11/24/97, patient in respirat" and then it stops.  I don't know when he died. Pre-existing conditions noted were "prematurity, RDS, hyperbilirubinemia, gestational diabetes, induced labor, E-Coli, others, meningeal infection, failure to thrive, NRBC's".  (Florida)

VAERS ID 160985    An infant received the DTP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 11/11/97.  11 days post vaccination he developed lethargy and a high-pitched cry.  3 days later he became apneic.  He died 17 days post vaccination and it is thought he died of vaccine-induced encephalitis.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 122214    An infant received the DTP, HepB and OPV vaccines on 7/30/97. I'm not sure, but I think I understand the text to mean the following:  At her 2 week check-up, which would have been around June 11, the exam was normal.  However on the 15th of June she was hospitalized, then discharged the next day with colitis and bloody diarrhea, probably due to a milk allergy (according to reporter).  Her formula was changed to soy.  However, 28 days post vaccination she died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 106657  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/8/97.    A medical examiner pronounced her dead the next day at 1:36PM.  An autopsy to be performed.  (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 106256  A one year-old received the DTaP, HIBV, HepB and MMR vaccines on 12/10/97.  On the 14th, 4 days later, he developed an elevated temperature, poor appetite, weakness.  The next day his temp increased and he was taken to the hospital and admitted.   It does not say he left the hospital, but then says on the 16th, the next day, he was taken to the hospital with increased temp, convulsions, difficulty breathing.  On the 17th, his temp decreased, became unresponsive and unable to communicate.  He died, but it does not say when.  It says he was hospitalized for 4 days.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 115534  An infant received the DTP, OPV and HepB vaccines on 11/5/96.  Says subsequently she experienced uncontrollable crying 2 hours at a time for two weeks.  Given Tylenol.  Then the infant died.  Don't know when the crying started for sure or when she died (says onset of symptoms on 11/27/96 - but may indicate the death rather than the crying).  (New Jersey)
